Biodegradable residues or biowastes (garden & park waste, food processing and kitchen waste, domestic & sewage wastes, manure and residues from forestry, agriculture and fisheries) represent an enormous source of organic and inorganic compounds that need to be valorized by developing technological and business models within biorefinery schemes. 

In our research group we aim to develop chemical and engineering processes for the valorization of bio waste into a broad plethora of end use products and materials, including chemical, energy and fertilizers.
