Reuse of spent li-ion batteries into stable and efficient heterogeneous catalysts
The management, the disposal and the recycling of e-waste are foremost crucial since, if not correctly conducted, they can generate serious problems for the environment and the human health. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are widely used in mobile phones, personal computers, electric vehicles and solar/wind energy storage devices and already represent an important secondary resource for the recovery of valuable metals such as cobalt, nickel, copper, and lithium.
In our research group we develop simple protocols for the conversion of spent Lithium-ion batteries into stable and efficient heterogeneous catalysts
